Swiming in Zanzibar

Regina was making a trip across the world to four countries in three weeks to assist a fellow documentary maker, the Brit whose work she admired. The point was to bring the world's attention to a neglected issue and great suffering. Their last stop was Africa. Regina wanted to live in Afica because of the weather and the beauty of it, but since she was white, the Brit thought that Regina would not be able to survive in poverty. Each city they went to, kids were begging for water and money which made Regina feel like she had too much. On the last day before they left Zanzibar to go back home, Regina really wanted to go for a swim and she insisted on travelling to the beach before leaving. She wanted to wash the last three weeks from her body to wipe away the sadness. Regina swam towards the breakers in the water and she easily passed the Brit who was clearly not a good swimmer. Then the Brit passed her and swam far out trying to impress her or trying to prove something. The Brit had a hard time because the wind picked up and the water got deeper. The brit was drowning because his leg got caught in seaweed. People ran out to the water to save them but they both stopped swimming. Luckily they were both saved on their last day before they headed back to Canada. The Brit being stubborn, never thanked Regina for trying to help him.
